Goodbye 2012, Hello 2013!

December has been a very good month, though I was neglectful in getting pictures of everything I made this month.  Here is just a small sample of what I did these past few weeks:

Christmas cookies, clockwise from top: sugar cookies, lime shortbread with dried cherries, peppermint biscotti, and banana oat chocolate chip cookies.
Gear pump cookies, what I came up with for someone who asked for hydraulic pump cookies.
This Penske truck is bringing you holiday cheer.

I hope you all have a wonderful & happy New Year!  See you in 2013!

My how time flies!

I should make some cookies shaped as clocks and throw them out the window, since time has flown since my last post.  Life has been a bit hectic these past fews month, and since this business is just me, and in addition to my full time job, I've been slightly neglectful in updating.  What have I been up to in the cooke department, you might ask?  Check these out:
These were made for my nephew Ethan's baptism.  The cookies are not as cute as Ethan.
These were made for a detective-themed birthday celebration.  That is my actual thumb print on the magnifying glass.  Now you can have cookies for your next 'Sherlock' or 'Elementary' viewing party!

Different types of unions

August has brought me my largest order ever (wedding favors!) and my brother's 20th high school reunion.  The wedding was a teal, white & black theme:
It was a pleasure and an honor to do the favors, and I wish the happy couple many, many years of sweet wedded bliss!

To help out my brother's reunion, I'm donating a dozen to use as a raffle prize:
It's hard for me to believe my brother graduated 20 years ago, because my 20th isn't that far behind!  Where does time go?

Fore!

Hopefully these cookies were below par.  I think that means 'good'.  My golfing experience is in miniature only.

C'mon ride the (circus) train!

Del is having a train-themed 3rd birthday.  When I was a kid, we had a Fisher Price Little People Circus Train, the memory of which immediately popped into my head upon receiving Del's invitation.  I've wanted to do train cookies for a long time and was so excited to do these, I hope Del likes them!

Fanciful fruit

I had an order for cookies that the customer basically said 'whatever you want to do, I'm cool with it.'  That can be a bit intimidating, when you think about it; I have so many cookie cutters, how do I decide on which ones?  And then what to do with them?  Going through my collection, I came across some fruit-shaped cutters.  I've used one or two of them before, but thought I'd give them another go and see what I could do to make apples, pears, strawberries and bananas a little more than just... fruit.  Here's the result:

Nancy's Fancy Cookies

A woman named Nancy is having a birthday party, and her friend wanted cookies inspired by the book Fancy Nancy.  This is what I came up with:
I hope these are fancy enough for Nancy and her friends!

Barbershops & babies.

A friend of mine frequents Jason's Barbershop in Kent and wanted to give them a set of cookies.  I used the shop's sign as one design, and you can't do barbershop cookies without a barber pole:
Reuben Luis' Mom decided to order some cookies to have on hand for the family when they came to welcome him to the world.  Mom is a smart cookie!

Goodbye 2011, Hello 2012!

It has been a busy several weeks so I have quite a few cookies to share with you in this post (consider this the year-end wrap-up/clean-out).  In no particular order, there are gingerbread cookies from Christmas, my Christmas sugar cookie set for the year, baby shower cookies, Thanksgiving cookies, more Christmas cookies, Penske holiday cookies, snowflakes, and tattoo-inspired cookies.  Whew!

Happy New Year, everybody!  Make 2012 a good one and be good to each other!
